I woke up late this morning with a question on my mind
Where do we all go when we are running out of time?
I've seen them in their nursing homes just waiting for a call
Their eyes a mirror image of the man who's on the wall

They get no confrontation
For the things that they believe
So tell me why should I be
Scrutinized for my beliefs?

I look outside my window and there's violence in the streets
If there's someone up there, can you put our minds at ease?
There's people down here suffering, starving, slaying with their fists
If you're up there, then why haven't you put an end to this?

It doesn't really matter
What you think your time is worth
In the end, why can't we
Make heaven a place on earth?

So if you don't want to make a change
But you think the world is getting strange
When you're six feet under, don't complain
'Cause there's always someone else to blame

If someone with the purest heart in all the world can be condemned to hell
Then what the hell do you believe?
For what about the ones who cannot read those written words
Or despite their efforts can't believe?

Should our future forever be
Throwing caution to the wind?
To wish to wake again
And hope that love will always win?
